This page explains how we write and update New Canadian Life.
How we check facts
For rules, fees, taxes and deadlines, we go to the primary source where one exists: Government of Canada and provincial websites, legislation, Statistics Canada, and the organization that sets the rule or price. Guides we have rebuilt link to those sources and say when a figure was last checked.
Older posts
This site has published since 2019, and not every older post has been through this process yet. We are reviewing them, starting with the pages people read most. Treat any older figure, price or rule as a starting point, and confirm it with an official source.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Tell us which page and what looks wrong, with a source if you have one. When a correction changes a guide's main advice, we update the page's modified date.
How this site makes money
New Canadian Life may show ads and may earn a commission when you buy through some links, including as an Amazon Associate.
Not professional advice
Our guides are general information, not legal, immigration, tax or financial advice. For decisions about your own case, speak to a licensed professional.
